Sir Stephen Hough returns to play Rachmaninov’s transcendental Third Piano Concerto in an all-Russian programme which includes Glinka's whizzbang overture to his opera Ruslan and Ludmilla and Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony with its triumphant proclamation of joy coming out of darkness and despair.
