LESLIE OLIVE

Founding Artistic Director Leslie Olive has conducted many of the major British orchestras including the Philharmonia, the Royal Philharmonic, the London Mozart Players and the English Chamber Orchestra.

He has conducted Mozart and Puccini opera with London Opera Players and Opera Brava, and major orchestral-choral repertoire with The English Arts Chorale in venues including London's Southbank Centre, the Barbican Concert Hall, in cathedrals and concert halls across the UK and in France, Belgium, Denmark, and the Czech Republic. Leslie has also directed performances for BBC radio and television.

With a special interest in English music, he is one the few conductors to have conducted Vaughan Williams' opera The Pilgrim's Progress, and as Artistic Director of Reigate Summer Music Festival in Surrey, to have programmed performances of all three of Elgar's most famous large-scale choral-orchestral works within a week. His interpretation of Vaughan Williams's London Symphony with the Suffolk Philharmonic Orchestra in May 2013 was described by one expert commentator as "one of the very finest I have heard."
